Drill Rods Y Series Taper Threaded
The Drill Rod Y Series Taper Threaded are manufactured from cold drawn seamless steel tubing and the tool joints from heat treated alloy steel. The physical and chemical properties of the materials used in the manufacturing process are generally in accordance with the proposed ISO standard. They are typically used for heavy duty drilling and the tapered threads provide the following features.
- Maximum material under critical area thread
- Faster make and break of joint
- Less prone to joint wobble
- The more positive joint make up improved thread sealing
- Less risk of thread gauling.
All Y Series drill rods are normally supplied in length increments of 3 & 1.5 metres or 10ft & 5ft. Any other length increment may be supplied by request. The Y Series rod may also be supplied with welded ends if required thus making a slightly lighter rod.
All our Y Series rods have spanner flats as standard.
