 FOR GROUND INVESTIGATION:

The Geotool Dynamic probing rig has been proved to be a reliable and highly efficient accessory in the ground investigation and environmental assessment industry.

Because of its compact design, this rig can be transported to site in a small box van or large estate car. The equipment is very easy for a single operator to transport on all sites. The dynamic probing rig can be manufactured in hinged form for easy transportation and can be supplied in electric, hydraulic or petrol engine power units.

A mechanical counter is fitted to the unit as standard and can be supplied with 63.5 kilogram DPSH or 50 kilogram DPH.

Drill Rig Refurbishment >DRILLWELL offer comprehensive refurbishment, repair and maintenance services for all types of drill rigs and flushing pumps. Work is carried out by highly skilled craftsmen using the highest quality materials and original manufacturer spare parts. When completed, the drill rig or pump is subject to the most stringent quality checks and testing. This work may be carried out on site, your company depot or our factory premises.

RIG SAFETY STANDARDS UPGRADES

We will inspect any type of drill rig and report on its compliance with current regulations and standards viz:-

  • Machinery Directive 98 / 37 / EC (22 June 1998)
  • Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
  • BS EN 791:1996 Drill Rigs - Safety
  • BS EN 996:1996 Piling Rigs - Safety

Once this inspection and report is completed, DRILLWELL will undertake to modify the drill rig to ensure compliance with the above.

In addition DRILLWELL will assess the drill rig regarding the protection of persons from the rotating drill string as required by Regulation 11 of the Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations. 1998. This assessment will be carried out using the flow chart methodology in the following document published by The British Drilling Association.

"Guidance Notes for the Protection of Persons from Rotating Parts Involved in the Working Process and Ejected or Falling Material."A protection system will be recommended which will satisfy the PUWER 98. requirement and will be selected from the following hierarchy: -Fixed Guards, Opening Guard with Interlock and low speed/torque feature, Adjustable Guard, Tip wires or other devices.
