Plastic Core Liner - Drillwell LtdCore Barrel Drill-Line Inner Tube Plastic Liner ( Core Liner ) has been developed to assist and improve the recovery of Cores from soft, friable and broken formations. It is a simple design and low cost but very effective method of reducing drilling costs and improving drilling efficiency.

Our Core Barrel Drill-Line Inner Tube Plastic Liner consists of a clear, thin-wall extruded rigid plastic tube of which by accurate manufacturing processes is manufactured to close tolerances on both the outside and the inside diameters. Clearance between the O.D. of the “Drill-Line” and I.D. of the Core Barrel inner tube is there fore carefully controlled and allows easy fitting of the Plastic Tube into the inner tube in the field.

When the clear plastic material is used (inserted) it will not contaminate the Core sample during drilling and encapsulation. The material does not absorb water and will not swell or change shape.

  • Low coefficient of friction of the plastic material improves and assists the moment of the core into the tube.
  • Once the coring run has been completed the “Drill-Line” clear plastic tube can be withdrawn very easily from the inner tube with the core sample intact inside.
  • The recovered core sample may be encapsulated within the plastic liner by the fitting of plastic end caps to allow easy and safe transported to the laboratory etc.
  • “Drill-Line” is suitable for use in both single or double tube Core Barrels.
  • Should the Core contained in the plastic tube require close inspection or sampling on site the plastic liner maybe easily be cut with a sharp knife at the appropriate place.

All our Core Barrel Drill-Line Inner Tube Plastic Liner products are designed and manufactured in house by our fully qualified engineers allowing us to provide a custom service and a fast turn around.

It is necessary to use a Core Bit with a reduced Set Bore and a reduced Bore Corelifter when using the “Drill-Line” system.
